Company Outing 2018: Bohol Adventure
From stunning hills to soothing sandbars and beaches.
The Naess Shipping Philippines Inc. staffs together with their families shared another leisure moment of relaxation and an opportunity to create memorable experiences. The company organized again its annual company outing to give gratitude to its hardworking staffs thus allowing them to have bonding moments with their family.
This year’s destination is where the home of the Philippine Tarsier, the Bohol. Boarding the “TS Kapitan Felix Oca”, the ship takes it voyage from Manila Bay to the port of Tagbilaran, Bohol. Tagbilaran is also known as the “City of Peace and Friendship.” It serves as the provincial capital and principal gateway to the island province of Bohol. The port is the city’s main seaport which is located on the northern edge of the city.
The tour starts by riding the chartered bus going to “Dumaluan Beach Resort”. There’s nothing more perfect taking lunch alongside the unwrinkled white sand shore. After the delightful lunch, it is now time to go to Bohol Butterfly Sanctuary where you will find hundreds of beautiful butterflies and flowering plants. And never forget the magnificent Philippine tarsier, or also known as mamag in Tagalog and mawmag in Cebuano. It is considered as one of the smallest primates in the world smaller than an adult’s hand, with its eyes bigger than its stomach.
After enjoying the white sand beach of Dumaluan, the beautiful garden of butterflies, and the sanctuary of tarsiers, we now found ourselves climbing the almost unending staircases to witness the peerless hills of Bohol, the infamous “Chocolate Hills”. Its perfect shapes, tantamount sizes, and detailed positions and distances make you realized how it is perfectly architected by nature.
On the next day as the sun kissed the horizon, the group hastily prepared and assembled in Panglao. From there, the group boarded local motor boats for island hopping and enjoys beaches and sandbars or snorkel with corals and fishes under Bohol’s bluish water. Not to mention the virgin island or known as “Isola di Francesco”, where you can feed pigeons and have snacks. The place has a shrine in the middle of the ocean which is dedicated to St. Padre Pio of Pietrelcina. It is truly a perfect place for meditation and reflection, as the peacefulness and solemnity of the place can’t be merely described by words.
As the day nearly ends, it is time for us to go back to Manila. Bohol served as a place for us to have fun and relax from the stress and pollution of the city. Adventures may end but memories will remain.
